Proposed Malaga Waterfront Park

Proposed Malaga Waterfront Park

Why a waterfront park in Malaga?

Malaga is the center of a growing community of about 4,600 residents along the Columbia River south of Wenatchee. Though Malaga has miles of shorelines it lacks a waterfront park or recreation facilities.

Who is working on the plan?

The Malaga-Colockum Community Council, Chelan County, and the Chelan Public Utility District are reaching out to Malaga area residents, property owners, and businesses to find out what kinds of parks and recreation activities you like to do now, and what would like to see at a future waterfront park in Malaga. A consultant team is working on a suitability analysis to identify potential park sites, and to develop concepts, costs, and funding options.

We would love to hear from you. Here’s how you can participate.

Thank you for those who were able to attend the popup event at the Malaga Fire Station on May 25th. We enjoyed meeting you and hearing your ideas about a potential waterfront park.

For those who were not able to attend the event, or for those who have more ideas to share, please see our video presentation of the Malaga survey results and the photos of park amenities and study sites. Please follow the links below to view the video, slides, or boards!
