Proposed Malaga Waterfront Park
Why a waterfront park in Malaga?
Malaga is the center of a growing community of about 4,800 residents along the Columbia River south of Wenatchee. Though Malaga has miles of shorelines it lacks a waterfront park or recreation facilities.
Who is working on the plan?
The Malaga-Colockum Community Council, Chelan County and the Chelan Public Utility District have been working with a consultant team on a site suitability analysis and design concept for a new waterfront park.
What is the status of the project?
The project team has identified a site for the project and is working towards acquisition and funding. A Story Map with more project details and the early design concept can be viewed here.
