Alpenview Fish Passage Project

Chelan County Natural Resource Department solicits an Invitation to Bid for the Alpenview Fish Passage Project, in Chelan County. This Contract provides for the construction of three (3) Large Woody Debris complexity structures downstream of a culvert under Alpenview Drive, near Leavenworth, WA. The work includes, but is not limited to; temporary improvements to, development of, and restoration of temporary construction access routes; temporary traffic control as needed to safely deliver, handle, and stage equipment and materials; channel and bank excavation; wood acquisition and structure installation; procurement and installation of habitat boulders; and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. Plans, Specifications, and other pertinent information can be seen at the CCNRD office or emailed upon request. CCNRD will be responsible for obtaining environmental permits. All work shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents and the 2022 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction, State of Washington, Department of Transportation, and addenda thereto.All in-water-work must be completed between the dates of July 1st and September 30th. The estimated range of probable cost is $65,000 to $71,000 excluding WSST. 

Pre-Bid Walkthrough Information:  An optional Pre-Bid conference walkthrough with representatives from the CONTRACTING AGENCY will be held on site on Friday, January 14th , 2022 at 09:30 A.M. Attendees should meet at the project site on Alpenview Road. Potential bidders attending the optional Pre-Bid conference shall anticipate the meeting to be held in an open air, socially distanced environment with all current COVID safety guidelines to be followed. From Leavenworth, WA, travel 2-miles on Chumstick Highway and take a right on Alpenview drive and park prior to crossing under the archway over the culvert. A minimum of one representative from each Prime Contractor that intends to submit a bid is encouraged to attend.

Nason Creek Kahler Reach Habitat Enhancement Project

Chelan County Natural Resource Department solicits an Invitation to Bid for the Nason Creek Kahler Reach Habitat Enhancement Project, in Chelan County. This Contract provides for the improvement of fish and aquatic habitat in Nason Creek between River Miles (RM) 6.5 and 7.5. This Contract is associated with work at Site 1 and Site 2. The work includes, but is not limited to: temporary traffic control as needed to safely deliver, handle, and stage equipment and materials; permanent and temporary improvements of access routes; clearing and salvage of trees and shrubs for use in Engineered Log Jam (ELJ) construction;  isolation of  work areas from a flowing stream channel and excavation dewatering; control of in-water turbidity; temporary bridge stream crossing; furnishing materials for and performing construction of ELJ habitat structures; seeding, and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.

Pre-Bid Walkthrough Information:  An optional Pre-Bid conference with representatives from the CONTRACTING AGENCY will be held virtually on January 21st, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. PDT. A minimum of one representative from each Prime Contractor that intends to submit a bid is encouraged to attend.

The project site is located within Nason Creek, adjacent to US-Highway 2. The main access road to the site is Riverside Road/United State Forest Road (FR) 6910 off of US-2 which is approximately 2.6 miles west of the intersection with State Highway 207 in Cole’s Corner, WA. All work must be completed within the in-water-work window occurring from July 1st, 2022 to August 8th, 2022. The estimated range of probable cost is $718,000 to $794,000 excluding WSST.

Nason Perimeter Shaded Fuel Break Project

Chelan County Natural Resource Department has released an Invitation to Bid for the Nason Perimeter Shaded Fuel Break Project near Cole's Corner in Chelan County, WA. This Contract provides for fuels reduction work across 62 acres along the Nason Perimeter Road, approximately 1 mile east of the Nason Rest Area off of Highway 2. The purpose of the project is to create a defensible, fire resilient fuel break along the Nason perimeter road and reduce understory density in additional acreage along the base of Nason Ridge to increase height and resiliency of restocked ponderosa pine stand. Thinning will be achieved by machine masticating and will occur over snow to avoid impacts to wildlife and meet funding deadlines. Thinning prescription is included in the Special Provisions section of the project manual linked below, and all work will be completed in accordance with the Contract Provisions and Standard Specifications included therein.  

Bid Opening: Tuesday, January 18th 2022 at 11:00 AM.

A non-mandatory pre-bid walkthough will be held on Monday, January 10th at 2:00 PM. Participants should meet at the intersection of Butcher Creek Road and the BPA powerline where the Nason Perimeter Road joins Butcher Creek Road. The turnoff to Butcher Creek Road is approximately 1/4 mile east of the Nason Rest Area, on the north side of Highway 2. The unit may be snow covered, and access will likely be on foot from the meeting area.
