Chelan County kicked off the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update with a series of three public meetings in May. Chelan County Community Development, which is leading the comprehensive plan update, anticipates a second set of public open house events or meetings following the release of the Comprehensive Plan in 2026.

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold a public hearing on Jan. 14 to take comments on proposed updates to Chelan County’s short-term rental code. The public hearing will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Confluence Technology Center.
Chelan County seeks people interested in filling an unexpired term on the county’s Planning Commission, a voluntary board that makes recommendations on long-range planning matters and development regulations to the Board of County Commissioners. Applications are due by Jan. 15.
The Chelan County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Nov. 13 to take comments on proposed updates to the county’s short-term rental code. Written comments are being taken now. Read more for details on how to comment.
Community Development invites anyone living in or around a floodplain or floodway to attend a community meeting to learn what activities can – and can’t – be conducted in flood-prone areas. The meeting is 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Lake Wenatchee Rec Club
