Posted Oct. 14, 2026: We have posted the most recent draft update of the Chelan County 2026-2046 Comprehensive Plan and its appendices. All documents are posted on this website under "For Your Review." The documents also include the draft Malaga UGA plan and the draft Stehekin Community Plan.
On Oct. 14, commissioners took comments on the proposed Malaga UGA, the draft Stehekin Community Plan and the Climate Resiliency Assessment. Commissioners continued the hearing to 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 10. In addition, a public hearing will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 10 to gather comments on the Transportation Element of the comp plan as well as citizen-initiated map amendment proposals to the comp plan.
Comprehensive Plan Update
The Comprehensive Plan is Chelan County’s 20-year guiding document for managing growth and shaping the County’s future through 2046. It outlines the vision, goals and policies that will help us address critical issues, from housing and transportation to economic development and public services. This plan is a requirement under the state’s Growth Management Act, and the next review and update must be completed by Dec. 31, 2026.
Chelan County is responsible for planning for all unincorporated parts of the county, including land within the urban growth areas. The City of Chelan will be participating in some parts of the County process, although each incorporated city in Chelan County (including Chelan, Wenatchee, Entiat, Cashmere and Leavenworth) is responsible for updating its own comprehensive plans.
