Sheriff's Office

Civil

Civil process is a term that covers the service of pleadings, motions, orders, and other papers to parties involved in civil cases, and the service of orders that enforce judgments entered by the courts.  In Washington State, process service is a mandated responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office, and for the most part, only the office of Sheriff may perform civil process duties.

Type of papers the sheriff's office serves;

  1. Subpoena
  2. Notice of Claim
  3. Summons and Complaint
  4. Dissolution documents
  5. Child Custody documents
  6. Writs

Sheriff's Office employees cannot give legal advice

There may be times when the Sheriff’s Civil Division cannot serve papers in the time requested.  In those instances please see the Sheriff’s Office for a current list of local private process servers.

Unless other arrangements have been made, payment in advance is required.

Sheriff service fees are set by Chelan County Resolution 2005-108. Contact civil deputy at (509) 667-6876 or Email for service fees.
