Chelan County Public Works has been investigating complaints from drivers who have found a tar-like substance on their vehicles after traveling on Mission Ridge Road. Story updated on Jan. 30, 2018.
On Jan. 6, Boy Scout Troop 7 of Wenatchee, in partnership with Chelan County Public Works, will be recycling Christmas trees at the Chelan County shop on Easy Street in Wenatchee. Trees also can be dropped off at the Dryden Transfer Station and the Entiat brush yard.
Motorists should watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic in the area of Slide Ridge on South Lakeshore Road at Lake Chelan. An excavation crew is removing debris from the area after a landslide occurred in October. Minor traffic delays are expected at times.
The Board of Supervisors of the Chelan County Flood Control Zone District recently adopted its Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan and Financial Policies, which will guide the future direction of the fledgling district.
A public hearing on the final draft of the Chelan County Solid Waste Management Plan will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the Chelan County Board of Commissioners meeting room, 400 Douglas St. The public is invited to attend.
The Board of Supervisors of the Chelan County Flood Control Zone District will conduct a public hearing on Nov. 13 to consider adoption of its Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan.
