Commissioner District 3

Brad Hawkins     

Brad Hawkins, who represents District 3, was raised in Chelan County and received his K-12 education in the Wenatchee School District. Brad earned a Bachelor’s Degree with honors from Central Washington University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Following graduate school, Brad returned to the Wenatchee Valley and worked as a PUD employee for 18 years, focusing on hydroelectric relicensing, licensing compliance, and state and federal government relations. He served as State Representative for the 12th Legislative District from 2013 to 2017 and as State Senator from 2017 to 2025. He was elected Chelan County Commissioner in November 2024.

Brad and his wife, Shawna, have been married since 2002 and have two boys, Luke and Tyler. His father, Buell, served as a Chelan County Commissioner for District 3 from 2001 to 2008. In addition to his PUD and legislative experience, Brad served as a school board member for 10 years. He enjoys spending time with his family and hiking, cycling, and yoga.
