The public is invited to stop in and tour the newly renovated Chelan County Veteran Services Office during an open house, 1 to 3 p.m. on Sept. 25 at 428 Orondo Ave. in Wenatchee.
For the second consecutive year, the community will come together on Aug. 7 to pay tribute to 17 local recipients of the Purple Heart. This year’s honorees served in U.S. military conflicts ranging from World War I to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Are you a Purple Heart recipient? Or do you know someone who is? Fill out our Hall of Honor Inductee form so we can honor the bravery and sacrifice of our military service members. The form is available online.
The Veteran Services Office will be closed on Nov. 8 so county staff can pack up the office in preparation for a renovation project. On Nov. 12, the VSO will re-open at 400 Washington St., the Administrative Office for the Chelan County commissioners and the program's new home for four months.
The community and local veterans will come together on Aug. 7 to pay tribute to recipients of the Purple Heart, a military service decoration that honors men and women who have been wounded or died in combat. The ceremony will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 7 at Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee.
The Chelan County Veteran’s Advisory Board, or VAB, seeks three new board members who can commit to six meetings a year and a three-year term. Learn more about how to apply for consideration.
The Chelan County Veterans Program is hosting a community blood drive on June 9 with the American Red Cross. The blood drive is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Veterans Hall, 1206 N. Wenatchee Ave. Make an appointment today if you'd like to donate blood.
