School Street Wall Repair
History: Public Works engineering staff has been monitoring the wall, constructed in 1992, after recently noticing the movement of one 20-foot long panel. Public Works conducted geotech and a structural analysis to evaluate repair options.
Project Description & Benefits: To stabilize the wall, the County will hire a contractor to tie the wall back and install soil anchors. Using this option, work will be less intrusive, with minimal impacts on traffic and irrigation.
Location: Project is on the west side of School Street, between Knowles Road and Lombard Lane.
Updated Project Schedule: The contactor will begin work May 12. The work requires the irrigation water to be shut off for three days, from May 13 through May 15. It will take three days to install the anchors; however, the project will take five to seven days overall to complete.
