Feedback wanted! Chelan County Multi-Use Pathways Plan Survey
Feedback wanted! County launches online community survey and mapping tool to identify and prioritize multi-use pathway projects.
Chelan County including many of its municipalities and associated agencies have long recognized the value and importance of non-motorized pathway networks, supporting resident quality of life and the regional economy. They are asking for community input through an online survey and mapping tool which was launched to shape the County-wide Multi-Use Pathway Plan now underway. The survey/mapping tool takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. In addition to providing feedback on traditional survey questions, respondents will also have the opportunity to map their own priority routes and identify issues.
Background: In 2019, the County began formal efforts to commission a Pathways Plan to focus on multi-use, inter-urban trail types led by a committee of key stakeholders. Using approximately $71,000 sourced from grant funds dedicated to non-motorized transportation, the County’s Natural Resources Department and the Public Works Department joined to commission and begin the planning process in November of 2020. The resulting plan will reflect previous trail planning related efforts, provide a basis for future grant applications and help prioritize future investments.
The success of the plan is highly dependent on community input. The results of the survey will guide long-term improvement projects and shape the future of multi-use pathways within Chelan County.
