Chelan County and its partners seek volunteers to serve on a new steering committee that will help guide next year’s updating process to the Chelan County Hazard Mitigation and Community Wildfire Protection plans, two important plans used to identify natural hazards and their risks to the area.
Community Development has hired a consultant to begin identifying all short-term rentals in Chelan County, both those operating legally and illegally.

U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell announced a total of $58 million in funding for 23 projects that will remove fish passage barriers like small dams and culverts, to open up salmon migration routes. Among the projects is the Eagle Creek Fish Passage Restoration Project near Leavenworth.
Among the discussions at Community Development's Sept. 13 outreach meeting will be accessory dwelling units, or ADUs, and recently passed state legislation that encourages their construction. The meeting is 6-8 p.m. at Wenatchee High School.
