In September, Chelan County is hosting two in-person opportunities for Stehekin residents to share their ideas and comments on a draft request for proposals (RFP) that seeks a consultant to guide the community in creating a sustainable plan for the future.
People are invited to a meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the community hall. Chelan County and its partners will talk about the draft RFP and take any comments for changes or additions.
Those who can't make the meeting are invited to drop in at the Stehekin Pastry Company from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. County staff and Commissioner Tiffany Gering will be available at that time to talk with the public.
If you can’t make either in-person event, the draft RFP is posted on the county’s new Stehekin webpage. The RFP, which Chelan County expects to advertise later this fall, follows June’s meeting with the community when we discussed what residents would like the future of Stehekin to look like. Any comments on the RFP can be emailed to Mike Kaputa, director of Chelan County Natural Resources, at mike.kaputa@co.chelan.wa.us.
