2026 Lodging Tax funding requests open Aug. 29; due Oct. 10

The grant cycle is opening on Aug. 29 because of the Sept. 1 holiday. It closes on Oct. 10 so LTAC members have more time to review the applications. Please note that no applications will be accepted after Oct. 10. LTAC has allocated $221,638 for grant funding in 2026.

 

The Chelan County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is now seeking applications for 2026 Event and Marketing Grants. Qualified applicants will be a municipality, a public facilities district or a nonprofit organization. Projects that meet the requirements for lodging tax dollars include:

  • Marketing and operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourism within the boundaries of Chelan County
  • Tourism marketing within Chelan County

Successful grants will be considered utilizing the following criteria:

  • Increases tourism and convention activity in Chelan County
  • Boosts overnight stays and/or increases retail sales primarily in unincorporated Chelan County
  • For prior applicants: demonstrated history of successfully completing reporting requirements

Grant funding is provided on a reimbursement basis.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 10, 2025. The application deadline is final; no applications for 2026 funding will be taken after that date.
  2. Funds must be used for an activity/event/project in calendar year 2026.
  3. Your budget must accompany your application, showing the use of your organization’s and the County’s matching funds. 
  4. Grant recipients must agree to acknowledge use of Chelan County Lodging and Tourism funds to support the event in their marketing materials
  5. Reporting requirements:
    • A State Report reflecting cost, total attendance, attendance from greater than 50 miles, number of attendees who stayed overnight in paid accommodations and number of paid lodging nights must be returned within 30 days of the project's conclusion.
    • A written Post Event Report detailing the results of the activity, impact on the community, publicity, etc., must be returned within 30 days of the project's conclusion.
    • All report forms are provided as part of your grant acceptance package if you are a successful applicant.
  6. Grant funds will be issued after a project is completed and the State and Post Event Reports are provided to the Committee, along with a reimbursement form and supporting documentation of expenditures.
  7. Applications will be reviewed at LTAC's Oct. 23 meeting. If more information is needed, committee members may request an applicant give a short presentation to the committee. No additional materials are necessary; however, be prepared if a committee member should call to schedule a short, in-person interview.
