Observing Elections
In support of open, transparent and accessible elections, the Chelan County Auditor's Office allows the public to observe most portions of the elections process. Anyone who wishes to observe an election may do so by visiting our office. You will be asked to check in with staff and to follow some basic observation rules. The rules are designed to maintain the secrecy of votes, to ensure the security of the elections process, and to keep observers and staff safe.
To assist observers in getting the most out of their visit, Chelan County Elections offers observer training for the major political parties and the public. The training provides an overview of the elections process and an introduction to the basic rules of conduct we expect all observers to follow.
While attending observer training is not a requirement of observing any elections process, training participants will receive priority if we must limit the number of observers based on space constraints.
In order to gauge interest and accommodate participants, please RSVP by April 10 if you plan to attend at Stephanie.Wilder@co.chelan.wa.us.
