Traffic restrictions in place during Leavenworth Christmas festival

To enhance public safety and ensure clear routes for emergency vehicles, temporary parking and traffic restrictions will be enforced during the Village of Lights: Christmastown festival, which begins Nov. 29 and runs on weekends (Friday through Sunday) through Dec. 28.
The anticipated increase in traffic flows and associated parking congestion along narrow roadways could potentially decrease emergency services' response times in the Leavenworth area, according to a press release from the City of Leavenworth. The public is asked to obey the temporary restrictions to aid in any emergency response:
A traffic-controlled left turn will be in place at North Road onto Chumstick Highway and at Fir Street onto Chumstick Highway from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays from Dec. 7 through Dec. 28. Motorists should watch for both signage and flaggers directing traffic. Plan for delays and longer-than-normal wait times for all traffic at these intersections.
County Shop Road, off of Chumstick Highway, will be limited to local traffic only from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays from Dec. 7 through Dec. 28. Local traffic includes people who live in the area, service providers and delivery services with business on the street, and guests of people living on the road.
North Road, from Main Street in Peshastin to Chumstick Highway, will be limited to local traffic only from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays from Dec. 7 through Dec. 28.
Existing parking restrictions along city roadways are in effect during the festival's five three-day weekends. Additional temporary parking restrictions will also be in place on a variety of roads.
All Link Transit service on Routes 22 and 122 between Wenatchee and Leavenworth between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 6-7 will terminate at the Wilkommen Park-and-Ride behind Safeway. Route 32 Leavenworth Local service will operate from Wilkommen Park-and-Ride through Leavenworth to Icicle Road with extra buses on these two days. Schedules are online. This same festival schedule is in effect Dec. 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29.
