Pick up a KN95 respiratory mask at a site near you
The public is invited to pick up a free KN95 mask at one of several distribution spots around Chelan and Douglas counties.
Made available by the Chelan County Department of Emergency Management (DEM), the KN95 respiratory masks feature multi-layer protection against fine particulate, including particulate related to smoke from wildfires. They are recommended especially for people who may be experiencing respiratory problems with the unhealthy smoke levels the state has been experiencing because of wildfires.
People are asked to limit themselves to two masks a person. (Someone picking up masks for three people would get six masks, for example.) The KN95 masks are reusable unless damaged or dirty.
The DEM has ordered more masks; additional distribution sites may be added in the future. Watch the DEM Facebook page for updates. The current distribution sites in Chelan County are:
