New fee schedule coming Aug. 1
A new fee schedule for land use permit applications goes into effect on Aug. 1.
Last year, the Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution adopting a new fee schedule after holding several board workshops with Community Development and a public hearing. At the time, fees had not been raised in 14 years and were not keeping pace with either the annual CPI increases or increases in labor costs.
Commissioners also decided last year to phase in the fee adjustments over three years. Beginning in 2025, fee increases are made annually on Aug. 1 until 2028. Beginning Aug. 1, 2029, the building and permitting fees then will increase at a rate of 4 percent a year.
