County seeks public input on how accessible its buildings are

Chelan County is developing a plan to identify and recommend improvements for how the County provides access for people with disabilities.

Public input is necessary to help determine the County's priorities for continuring to upgrade facilities and programs to make them accessible to everyone.

We welcome input from residents and visitors to Chelan County as the County’s many public facilities are open to everyone. We also welcome caregivers, friends and family members of people who have disabilities to complete the below survey and describe their experiences. Please consider providing an email address so we can alert you to the plan's recommendations. We will not share your information and you will only receive two or three emails between now and summer 2023.

In addition, consider joining us on Thursday, May 11, for a public input and listening session. Two sessions will be held that day and they are a drop-in format. There will be a listening session from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Both will be held in meeting room No. 1 of the Chelan County Administration Building, 400 Douglas Street.

If you need assistance accessing the listening sessions, require auxiliary aids, or would like to schedule a digital meeting via Zoom in lieu of attending in person, please contact Jill FitzSimmons at 509-667-6545 or jillm.fitzsimmons@co.chelan.wa.us.

Note that the cities of Wenatchee, Cashmere, Leavenworth, Chelan and Entiat are responsible for buildings, parks, and sidewalks within their city limits and are not part of Chelan County’s plan.
