Bridge inspections week of August 11

(File photo is of the Monitor Bridge)

It’s bridge inspection season at Chelan County Public Works. During the week of August 11, you will see an Under Bridge Inspection Truck, or a UBIT, on a variety of bridges throughout Chelan County.

The long arm and bucket of the UBIT, owned and operated by our partners at WSDOT, allow our bridge inspector to get a close-up view of our bridges. The UBIT is parked on the bridges we are inspecting, so the work requires one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic and will bring minor traffic delays.

The work begins on Aug. 12 and runs through Aug. 15, with crews working 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. See the maps (PDF) for the locations of the bridges being inspected.

The schedule is tentative and will depend on how the inspections go, but our plan is:

  • Aug. 12: Ardenvoir (505A) and Cowan-Entiat (502)
  • Aug. 12-13: Wednesday (8/13/25): Sleepy Hollow near Wenatchee (303A) and Monitor (305)
  • Aug. 13-14: Dryden (406A) and Peshastin (411A)
  • Aug. 14-15: Cascade Orchard in Leavenworth (413) and Wenatchee River in Plain (20912)
