Job Type: Seasonal one part time & one Fulltime
Salary: $ Minimum up to $20/ Hourly DOE. Benefits include Washington State Sick Leave.

Summary

The Maintenance/Events Tech position at Ohme Gardens County Park is here to complete the grounds maintenance required in every day operations. This position will work in up keeping the appearance, safety, and repairs of all garden property, equipment, structures, and plumbing systems. Will also be required for event set up and tear down on weekday activities. Must have the ability to work independently, use good time management, work safely, and have good communication skills. This positions is Monday - Friday working hours between 6am – 4pm. (April to October)

Primary Responsibilities

1. Morning maintenance routine.

2. Perform Regular Garden Inspections

3. Weeding, planting & pruning

4. Lawn care

5. Repair and Improve Rock Work in Trails

6. Basic Pool/Waterfall Maintenance

7. Basic Irrigation and Domestic Water System Maintenance & Operation

8. Tool/Equipment Maintenance & Repair

9. Hands-on Repairs

10. Other Duties As Needed

Education, Skills, Experience and Personal Characteristics:

A. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.

B. Basic lawn care skill and maintenance.

C. High quality organizational skills and attention to detail is critical to position.

D. Ability to take and follow directions

E. Good problem solving skills.

F. Working knowledge of garden maintenance practice & procedures

G. Strong commitment to maintain high quality standards

H. Ability to operate tools & equipment used for the garden maintenance & repairs

I. Ability to work in all-season outdoor environment

J. Ability to work in steep terrain and high elevations

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical/Mental Requirements

This is a hands on position requiring good health, tolerance to, and the ability to work in hot and cool weather under sometimes strenuous conditions.

Ability to transverse 200 foot elevation change with backpack blower and other tools over uneven stone paths and stairs daily.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
