Gas Card DonationChelan County Sheriff's Office Chaplains Gas Card Donation Request

There are all kinds of groups and people assisting the victims of the fires right now. The Chelan County Sheriff's Chaplains, along with several other North Central Washington chaplains are traveling hundreds of miles a week—literally going to Pateros and beyond to assist the people who have lost their homes. They are helping them dig through the ashes helping people find any remains of treasured memories, people are coming to them to find out how to get food, clothing, etc. and these chaplain volunteers are getting answers for them. These volunteers need OUR HELP as they are often using their personal funds to pay for their travel back and forth to the disaster areas. Please consider donating a gas card (or two). You can drop the cards off at the Chelan County Sheriff's Office during business hours and we will make sure to give them to Darren Crutchfield, our lead Chaplain (who is an unpaid volunteer for our agency) and he will make sure the NCW Chaplain Foundation volunteers will get cards to help defray their personal costs. Any questions, please contact the Chelan County Sheriff's Office 667-6875.

Flood Control

On October 29, 2013, the Chelan County Commissioners declared their intent to establish a county wide (including cities) flood control zone district (FCZD) by signing Resolution 2013-083.  A Chelan County Flood Control Zone District (FCZD) would be a special-purpose government fund authorized under Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 86.15 to fund flood-reduction projects and programs in Chelan County.  Click here for more information.

ORV/ATV's on County Roads

On October 15, 2013 the Board of County Commissioners passed the resolution (2013-82) allowing ATVs/ORVs on all county roads posted 35mph or less (unless a road has been exempted by the Board of County Commissioners – presently Downey Rd. falls into that category).
