Auditor seeks citizens to serve on “against” committees for upcoming voters pamphlet
The Chelan County Auditor’s Office seeks individuals to write “Against” committee statements for the Feb. 13, 2024, Special Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
“Against” committee members needed for:
Cashmere School District No. 222
Entiat School District No. 127
Lake Chelan School District No. 129
Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue Fire District No. 9
Chiwawa Mosquito District No. 4
According to Revised Code of Washington 29A.32.280, districts proposing the measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against each measure. The districts have not appointed committees to write arguments against the measures, so the County Auditor is seeking individuals to serve on those committees.
The Local Voters’ Pamphlet includes official ballot titles, explanatory statements, arguments "for" and "against" each measure, and rebuttals.
Committee members are required to be residents of the district in order to draft arguments and at least one person must be willing to be named in the voters’ pamphlet as a member of the committee.
Committee member names and arguments must be submitted to the Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, via email to auditor@co.chelan.wa.us or by calling us at 509.667.6808 to arrange dropping off forms.
