Environmental Review

In accordance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), Chelan County and Ecology’s Office of Columbia River have adopted a Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (FPEIS) for the Icicle Strategy. The purpose of this FPEIS is to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of implementing a comprehensive water resource management strategy in the Icicle Creek Subbasin, with the Guiding Principles as the water management objectives.

The plan’s preferred alternative (Alternative 1) identifies a mix of conservation and storage modification projects to achieve reliable water supplies and instream flows.  Each project identified in the preferred alternative requires separate feasibility, funding and environmental analysis.  Chelan County and Ecology considered the advice of the Icicle Work Group, as well as over 8,800 public comments when adopting the FPEIS.
