Tax CollectionThe Tax Collection Department is responsible for the collection of personal, real, and utility taxes. In addition, this department collects the real estate excise tax and special assessments. Various statements are mailed throughout the year. Another function is the issuance of Mobile Home Movement Certificates. The Tax Collection Department can be reached by telephone at (509) 667-6405 or by fax (509) 667-6488. Property taxes become due and payable each year when the current year tax roll is completed by the County Treasurer. If you do not receive a statement by March 1st, please call our office at (509) 667-6405. First half payments must be paid or postmarked by April 30th or the entire billing becomes delinquent and will accrue interest and penalty. Interest is 1% a month on delinquent taxes. A 3% penalty is charged on June 1st. Second half taxes become delinquent after October 31st. An 8% penalty is charged on December 1st. If your mailing address is incorrect on your statement, please write the correct address on your statement when making a payment. You may also call the Chelan County Treasurer's office at (509) 667-6405 and give them your correct mailing address.
