CHELAN COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENT
October 2, 2010

Events Sponsored by Chelan County Solid Waste

Households within Chelan County may bring unwanted hazardous waste to several locations throughout the County. Hazardous Waste disposal is free of charge. Specific sites and times are:

Chelan Fire Station #7, 232 E. Wapato, 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Entiat Fire Station, Entiat River Rd, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Peshastin Elementary School, 1001 School Rd, 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wenatchee area Chelan County Shop on Easy Street, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The date for the event will always fall on the first Saturday of October.

Cost to the Public:

There are no fees collected from the public for participating in this event, though donations are accepted. Funding is provided by a grant from the Department of Ecology with the local cities and Chelan County providing matching funds to pay for the proper disposal of those hazardous wastes.

A $5.00 donation per vehicle would be appreciated to help defray some of the costs to host the event.

Motor oil, brake fluid, gasoline, auto flushes and additives, solvents, paints, glues, cements, roof coatings, sealants, caulkings, epoxy resins, thinners, spot removers, polishes, waxes, oven cleaners, toilet cleaners, drain cleaners, deck and chimney cleaners, pool chemicals, inks, dyes, batteries, charcoal fluid. (Please keep wastes in original containers) .

Agriculture or Commercial waste, explosives, biological waste, laboratory chemicals, PCB's, containers larger than 5 gallons.

Businesses need to pre-register for this event. Contact Chelan County Public Works.
