“The grounds are quiet, restful, and not dependent on formal floral displays… Breathtaking views of the Columbia River Valley below can be seen through cedar and fir trees, now more than 70 years old… It is a photographer’s paradise.”

2010 Gardens enhancement projects.

Several new native plant areas will be developed. Selected areas were chosen that fit the habitat of the natives being planted and will give visitors an opportunity to see natives of this area, some of which are very rare, that they probably would not otherwise ever get to see.

A new waterfall and pond has been added in our Sunken “Wedding” Lawn area for the 2010 season. This was made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation of NCW which the Ohme Gardens Friends’ Society applied for. This new water feature creates a nice backdrop for wedding ceremony’s and photos opportunities and will be ADA accessible.

Several renovated areas of the Gardens are scheduled for replanting. But in order for the Gardens to realize this dream, your generous donations are essential since the Gardens is self-supporting and does not receive tax revenue from the State of Washington. All donations are tax deductible andvery much appreciated.
