Among the road projects completed this year were:
West Eagle Rock and Chatham Hill Drainage Improvement Project: The $236,400 construction project included improvements to the stormwater conveyance system there.
Chiwawa Loop Road Reconstruction Project: The $2 million construction project was the third phase of a four-phase road widening and reconstruction project that included the replacement of the box culvert at Clear Creek.
South Wenatchee Pedestrian Improvement Project: This project built a pedestrian route, with sidewalks, curb ramps and marked crosswalks, at Crawford Street to Mission View Elementary School and along Terminal Avenue in Wenatchee. Construction was $468,000.
Easy Street Pedestrian Crossing Safety Beacons: Flashing safety beacons were installed at the intersections of Easy and School streets and Easy and Peters streets. Cost was $77,000.
Joe Miller Road Permanent Slide Repair: This road project at milepost 2.20 to 2.24 restored the roadway to two lanes after a landslide in 2016 destroyed the roadway. Construct cost $135,000.
25-Mile Creek Culvert Rehabilitation Project: The fall project repaired the floor of the existing double concrete box culvert on South Lakeshore Drive at Lake Chelan, maintaining access for landowners north of the structure and rebuilding the culvert for fish passage. Cost was $96,000.
2017 Road Preservation Program: Some 30 miles of roadway were chip sealed this summer at a cost of $1 million.
